Supported by the Industrial Research Institute (IRI) and the Euro-Lebanese
Center for Industrial Modernisation (ELCIM), the Lebanon SoftShore Cluster has
organised a seminar on Knowledge Management at the Ecole Supérieure des Affaires
(ESA) in Beirut. Main speaker, Mrs Pascale Hatem, expert in Knowledge Management
and its application in corporate settings, introduced the topic to IT companies
and organisations who attended the event and participated in a brainstorming
session. Mrs Hatem tackled the differences between data, information and
knowledge and the management of all such entities in corporate environments
stating that"making information available in not enough; getting people to use
it is the most critical".
The Lebanon SoftShore (LSS) Cluster is being relaunched by IRI through ELCIM
with the objective to promote the Lebanese Software Industry on a global level,
creating new opportunities for Lebanese Software companies beyond Lebanese
borders. With this perspective in mind, the LSS has jump-started a program of
seminars and workshops aimed at exposing Lebanese software companies to key
trends in management and IT. .
